Honesty

With great sadness, I must confess that some people on facebook have forced me to block them. My personal standard for blocking someone is simple. Are they consistently dishonest?

“But avoid foolish controversies, arguments about genealogies, quarrels, and fights about the Law. These things are useless and worthless. Have nothing to do with a divisive person after you have warned him once or twice. For you know that a person like this is corrupt and keeps on sinning, being self-condemned.” Titus 3:9-11 ISV

I probably allow people too many chances. Though unbelievers will condemn you as a censor, you are obeying the Word of God.

“Never give what is holy to dogs or throw your pearls before pigs. Otherwise, they will trample them with their feet and then turn around and attack you.” Matthew 7:6 ISV

The Word of God is Holy. If someone is only going to mock it, then we should not have any further dealings with that person. That does not mean we cannot be civil to them or have no business dealings with them, but we should be careful not to give what is holy to dogs.
